Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari is set to embark on a week-long visit to China this Saturday. Invited by the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Bhandari will engage with Chinese officials in Beijing during her stay.
Accompanying her on this diplomatic trip is a delegation that includes prominent figures such as UML Secretary and Foreign Department Chief Raghubir Mahaseth, Industry Minister Damodar Bhandari, UML Permanent Committee Member Karna Bahadur Thapa, and leaders Goma Devkota and Devi Bhatta, among others.
While Bhandari had initially planned the visit last September, it was postponed at the time. Her decision to bring along key UML leaders raises speculation that she may be seeking to re-enter the political arena, signaling a possible shift in her post-presidency trajectory.
