Kathmandu – The spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, Min Bishwakarma, has criticized recent media reports regarding the views of party President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on the monarchy, calling them misleading and unethical.

Deuba has always been committed to safeguarding and promoting the achievements of the 2006/07 People's Movement, particularly the Constitution that established a federal, inclusive, democratic republic. He expressed on social media that he is a relentless advocate for a democratic system that guarantees full freedom, equality, and justice for citizens.

Bishwakarma clarified that spreading false information about Deuba’s stance on the monarchy for personal or momentary gains is unethical. He emphasized that any fabricated claims about Deuba, suggesting he has said or thought something that he hasn’t, goes against the principles of responsible journalism.

He urged the public not to believe in such misleading reports.
